• FAQ’s

     

    What time should students arrive?

    • Morning exams: Arrive by 7:45 AM (Exam starts at 8:00 AM). At the conclusion of the exam, students can leave the building or attend their classes. 
    • Afternoon exams: Arrive by 11:45 AM (Exam starts at 12:00 PM) and report to the PAC.

    What should students bring to the exam?

    • Two number 2 pencils
    • Pens (blue and black, non-gel)
    • Calculator (approved list linked in useful links)
    • Device with Bluebook properly installed
    • Device charger
    • Ruler / Straight edge (Physics)
    • Accommodations letter (if applicable)

    What should students NOT bring to the exam?

    • Electronic equipment including phones, smartwatches, fitness trackers, wearable technology, cameras, recording or listening devices, or any other type of electronic or communication device.
    • Books, reference guides, notes, compasses, protractors, pencils, correction fluid, dictionaries, highlighters, or colored pencils.
    • Scratch paper: Students are prohibited from bringing scratch paper to the AP Exam. We will provide it.
    • Watches that beep, make a noise, or have an alarm.
    • Computers or calculators that are not approved.
    • Reference guides, keyboard maps, or other typing instructions.
    • Ear plugs.
    • Clothing or shoes with subject-related information.
    • Food or drink. Unless approved by accommodation.
    • Clipboards.

    A student observed with any of these prohibited items during testing or breaks may be dismissed from the exam, the device may be confiscated, the student’s score may be canceled, and no retest may be permitted.

     

    Can students wear hats/beanies/etc? 

    • No. Students cannot wear these items or anything that covers their ears. Hoodies may be worn, but the hood must be down. 

    Can students leave early if they finish?

    • No. Students must remain in the exam room for the full test duration, even if they finish early. Students with extended time accommodations need to confirm in Bluebook that they are forgoing the additional time. 

    Will science exams have printed reference tables?

    • Printed reference tables will only be available for the AP Chemistry exam.

    Will there be extra calculators?

    • Yes, however, there will be calculators available through Bluebook for specific exams and during specific exam sections.

    What if a student's chromebook is not charged?

    • It is recommended that students charge their chromebooks fully prior to the exam. There will be powerstrips available for students to use to charge during the exam. 

    Can students use already stored login information?

    • No. Students will not be able to use stored login information. They need to know the email they used to register for and access AP classroom and password. 

    Is Bluebook on the school provided chromebooks?

    • Yes. It is already on district-issued computers. If students prefer to use their personal device, they must go to the tech office to have Bluebook downloaded properly on their device prior to May 1

    Can the students practice using Bluebook?

    • Yes. Practice exams are available in Bluebook. In the useful links tab is a link to explain practice further.

    What other steps should students take before testing? 

    • In addition to studying and taking practice tests, students should read and become familiar with the AP Exam Terms and Conditions. Students will acknowledge these on testing day. Also, for Seniors, before June 20, make sure to indicate your free score report recipient. 

    What if a student wakes up VERY sick on the day of the exam?

    • If something unexpected happens that prevents you from taking the AP Exam on the date you were scheduled, you can talk to Mrs. Cole about taking the exam during the late testing window. There are criteria for testing in the late window; it is not for students who just want to test later. There must be a valid, pre-approved reason.
