    The Brewster High School Student Services Department adheres to the philosophy that all students can be successful and that a school counseling program is an essential and integral part of our high school’s overall education process.  It is our belief that a school counseling program should be provided to all students regardless of ethnicity, sex, ability, achievements or aspirations; every individual is important and to be respected for his or her individual differences.  Academic, career, personal and social, and community involvement skills are the knowledge that students need for success.  The Student Services Department seeks to develop students who are prepared to make healthy life choices, be responsible for themselves, to have a strong capacity for resiliency, a strong sense of self, and compassion and empathy for others in the face of diverse life issues.

  • Our Mission

    Man standing on water's edge The mission of the Brewster High School Student Services Department is to support and enhance the academic, college and career, and social and emotional development of each student by working in concert with the greater school community inclusive of teachers, administrators, staff, and parents. Mirroring the mission of the BCSD, we seek to create a culture that embraces the whole child, challenges children’s abilities, values diversity, incorporates relevant technology, and engages in a Professional Learning Community that strives to rigorously evaluate its effectiveness on student learning.   • Department Goals

    1. By June 2025, 75% of 9th-grade students will set an academic SMART goal.
    2. By June 2025, 95% of students will review their academic transcript to ensure they are on track for graduation.
    3. By June 2025, 75% of the 9th-grade students will complete a skills assessment and be able to identify a college or career goal connected to their personal strengths.
    4. By June 2025, 75% of the 10th-grade students will complete a “Would You Rather” assessment and will be able to identify 3 careers that connect to their personal strengths and interests.
    5. By June 2025, 75% of the 11th-grade students will complete a Game Plan survey to identify a post-secondary goal tied to their interests, strengths, and abilities.
    6. By June 2025, 95% of 9-12 students will be able to identify 2 adults in the building as resources or sources of support, including one member of the student services office.
